The Most Holy Eucharist, Jesus fully present under the appearance of bread and wine, is the heart of Catholic belief and worship.

In order to be properly disposed to receive Communion, communicants should not be conscious of grave sin, have fasted for one hour, and seek to live in charity and love. Persons conscious of grave sin must first be reconciled
with God and the Church through the Sacrament of Reconciliation.

R.C.I.A. candidates customarily receive their First Communion on Holy Saturday at the Easter Vigil.

Grade 2 children make their First Communion in the spring, preparing throughout the school year to receive this sacrament. Please scroll below for faith formation resources to learn more about the Sacrament of Holy Communion.

Sacrament of Reconciliation
This year, students from St. Michael's and St. Joseph's are scheduled to receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation on Thursday, December 4. We encourage you to check out the reconciliation section of our website for resources to prepare you for making your first Confession, including an examination of conscience for children and a 'how to video'.

St. Joseph's School
The Sacrament of First Holy Communion will be celebrated during the 11:30 am Mass on Sunday, April 19. There will be a class visit on April 15 and a rehearsal on April 16.

St. Michael's School
