In Reconciliation, we encounter Jesus ready to absolve and restore us to new life.
His forgiveness of sins and restoration of grace are made visible through outward signs:
The extension of hands and the words of absolution spoken by the priest.
To make a good Confession, we prayerfully consider our actions and confess our sins with contrition.
The priest imposes a penance and absolves the confessant in the name and by the power of Christ.
Frequent Confession is encouraged for everyone. The Sacrament is available Wednesdays to Fridays before Weekday Mass, 12:00-12:15pm. Additional Confession times are offered 15 minutes before each Mass on the Lord's Day during Advent and Lent.
You can also check out MassTimes.org for Confession times at neighbouring parishes (be sure to confirm times on the parish website).
For questions about the Sacrament of Confession, please contact Maria Henriquez, our Director of Parish Administration to direct your inquiry.
